There is a day in your near future when you will have what it is you want. But only by deciding today what that is and taking actions to bring it about. Be tenacious in pursuit of your dreams and more so in controlling your mind’s ability to sabotage your efforts.
A message from my Spirit Teacher, Tau Chuan Ling.
OpEd: What is it that stops you from doing what it is you know you want to do? The older I get, the more I realize how much our animalistic nature controls our younger selves. As animals, our inherent need for procreation runs the show.
We each have very animal instincts that distract us that drive our actions. I say this because our base instincts of reproducing and surviving create unexplainable feelings and desires that distract us from higher endeavors. Our ability to succeed in one or two areas of life is our way of fitting into the herd and surviving, but not in a balanced way in all areas of life. A single-minded focus being driven by animal instincts.
To navigate where you are right now to where you want to go, requires controlling our animal brain with our Spiritual mind. The part of our consciousness that lives after we die. Mental control developed through a disciplined meditation practice provides the means first to see, and then change our sabotaging behaviors.
It sounds too simple doesn’t it? Yes, it’s simple, but not easy. A meditation practice isn’t taking a pill to alleviate symptoms in the short run. A meditation practice is a long-term solution to many of life’s troubles. Start today trusting the direction of your life’s journey will begin effortlessly leading to the destinations of your choosing.
