OpEd: As Tau Sing defined for us, a saint is someone who always knows what their next step is and is never surprised. Bringing about this level awareness and knowing does not happen overnight. It is possible to benefit from it several times each day.
The best made plans rarely last past the first few minutes of starting. When things change, we fallback to our level of training. This adage holds true whether for the military or spiritual practitioner. For the spiritually aware, the training is the 3Rs. Right meditation. Right thought. Right action.
It takes discipline to turn mindfully within during times of stress. The benefits of meditation and daily practice is our mind’s ability to reach stillness with less effort and very quickly. There are those who sit in a monastery day in and day out mastering their meditation practice. It’s the person living life fully who have learned to master stillness and awareness on the fly who are the Saints.
Decide what it is you want in life and pursue it with the wholeness of your being. It’s in the pursuit of living, loving and achieving our goals and dreams that the Spiritual Student learns the most about themselves and their ability to experience each moment’s fullest measure.
