OpEd: Today’s #SpiritMessage is quintessential Gene who loved all things food. Avoidance of excess or moderation is a spiritual law and one many struggle with during their lives in physical bodies. Physical pleasure, emotional distress, psychological pain all seem to lessen with gluttony. If a little is good, more is better. This is true upon occasion, yet at the point of distraction is excess. Consciously choosing your actions, behaviors and results is one of the initial steps to self-awareness. Allowing yourself to experience what you enjoy most without losing control and causing yourself or anyone else harm is the middle path. Walking the middle path is indeed the path to enlightenment.
