The fate of your hopes, dreams and desires lie in the hands of a single person. You. My advice, make friends with the master of your destiny starting today.
A message from my Spirit Teacher, Tau Chuan Ling.
Spirit Shorts Episode 91: True Spirituality
When I read Tau Chuan Ling’s message, the first thing that started running through my mind was kissing my own but. You know a full court press to impress.
True spirituality and friendship would be bringing myself a coffee, buying me drinks, courting, wooing, whispering sweet nothings in my ear. Then I realized that my truest and best friends require no wooing. They know all of my personality flaws and issues, and they accept and love me just as I am.
Of course, I annoy and piss them off from time to time. I also frustrate and irritate them quite often. But the thing is, it’s their desire for me to be happy that frustrates them.
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty much my own, worst enemy. I am the only saboteur in my life. It’s my actions that demonstrate just how much disregard I have for myself. I would never treat a friend the way I treat myself. Just wouldn’t happen. How can we be truly spiritual is we don’t like our selves?
Hmmmm. So what does it mean to make friends with me? First of all I find it interesting Tau Chuan Ling didn’t say love yourself. The idea of loving oneself is cliche; it’s divisive. Some of the most abusive and nasty relationships I’ve seen are between people who love each other.
What is a friend? Such an interesting question with so many answers. Looking back at Tau Chuan Ling’s message, he mentions our hopes, dreams and desires, each in the hands of one person. Our friends are those who support us in achieving the life we want. Seems pretty simple, doesn’t it?
Over the next few days engage in some true spirituality and befriend yourself. Start showing regard, respect and support for the person you meet in the mirror every day. You deserve it.
